Word to the Wise: pitch

pitch (noun) – how high or low a tone is (in music or acoustics)

pitch-perfect (adjective) – (sound) exactly right

pitch

Note: Pitch can have a number of other meanings.

Here are some examples of how you can use pitch:

An alto sings in a low pitch, whilst a soprano sings in a low pitch.

The pitch of her voice is very high, which may be why I find it hard to understand her.

Chinese uses different pitches to express different meanings.

The piano has been tuned and now it sounds pitch-perfect .

The trombonist gave a pitch-perfect concert.
